Matihani (Darbhanga-Matihani 20km) is considered the gateway to the Ramayana in Nepal. Matihani is located at the Indian border and was where Matkor of Mata Sita were conducted in the treta yuga. In a traditional mithila marriage, the Matkor ceremony is conducted when the groom comes to the bride place for marriage. Bedi is a ritual where mud is used for the Matkor ceremony. In the annual wedding ceremony (Bibah Panchmi), which takes place every year at Janakpur, the mud is taken from the pond nearby of Swami Laxmi Narayan temple.
The king of Sen Dynasty met a Tasmaniya baba who was meditating in the jungle of Matihani and asked how to get a son. The saint said to the kist that the wishes of the king was fulfilled and returned to Matihani to build a school. Just then built the Sanskrit school and the Laxmi Narayan temple.
Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple: It is a hindu temple of Shiva situated at Mahottari district, Nepal. Hindu Pilgrims people visit this temple on Maha Shivaratri and Vasant Panchami. The city of Jaleshwar where this temple is located is named after this temple. The Temple was build by King Mr. Janak.
Punaura Dham: Maa Janaki birthplace is also known as “Punaura Dham” in Punaura village of Sitamarhi district of Bihar states. It is believed that Mata Sita was born at this place. There is a story related to this that once there was a severe famine in Mithila and the priest there advised King Mr. Janak to plow the field. When King Mr. Janak was ploughing, an earthen pot came out of the ground, in which Mother Sita was in an infant state.
Behind the temple in “Punaura Dham”, there is a lake by the name of Janaki Kund. There is a belief about this lake that bathing in this lake gives birth to children. There is a famous place named Panth Pakar here. This place is associated with the marriage of Mata Sita. The ancient Peepal (Banyan Tree) tree is still there at this place, under which there is a palanquin. It is the center of faith and must visit here.

Queen Vrisha Bhanu of Tikamgarh, India built the temple in 1910 AD. In 1657, a golden statue of the Goddess Sita was found at the very spot, and Sita is said to have lived there. The legend said it that it was built on the holy site where Sannyasi Shurkishordas had found the images of Goddess Sita.
Sita, (Sanskrit: “Furrow”) also called Janaki, in Hinduism, the consort of the god Rama. Her abduction by the demon king Ravana and subsequent rescue are the central incidents in the great Hindu epic Ramayana (“Rama’s Journey”).
Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath is derived from three Sanskrit words “pashu” meaning animal or organism, “pati” meaning husband or protector and “nath” meaning “God”. The word “Shree” is a normal designation. Pashupatinath is hence considered as the protector of all the living organisms.
The myth of Pashupati appears to have been woven based on the original Dravidian deity Potu Raju. In Telugu language Potu means male animal and Raju means the King or the ruler. Thus Pashupati is just the Sanskrit name of Poturaju.
Pashupatinath is the most revered God of Nepal. The temple is the biggest Hindu temple of Lord Shiva located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu. Bagmati is considered as the most sacred place in Nepal the temple regarded as the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath, until Nepal was secularized. It is regarded as the most sacred among the temples of Lord Shiva (Pashupati) the temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
Believers in Pashupatinath (mainly Hindus) are allowed to enter the temple premises. Non-Hindu visitors are allowed to have a look at the top of hill to the east of the temple & from the other bank of Bagmati River its surroundings.
