Punaura Dham Path – Jaleshwar Mahadev – Janakpur Yatra

Punaura Dham: Maa Janaki birthplace is also known as “Punaura Dham” in Punaura village of Sitamarhi district of Bihar states. It is believed that Mata Sita was born at this place. There is a story related to this that once there was a severe famine in Mithila and the priest there advised King Mr.  Janak to plow the field. When King Mr. Janak was ploughing, an earthen pot came out of the ground, in which Mother Sita was in an infant state.

Behind the temple in “Punaura Dham”, there is a lake by the name of Janaki Kund. There is a belief about this lake that bathing in this lake gives birth to children. There is a famous place named Panth Pakar here. This place is associated with the marriage of Mata Sita. The ancient Peepal (Banyan Tree) tree is still there at this place, under which there is a palanquin. It is the center of faith and must visit here.

Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple:  It is a hindu temple of Shiva situated at Mahottari district, Nepal. Hindu Pilgrims people visit this temple on Maha Shivaratri and Vasant Panchami. The city of Jaleshwar where this temple is located is named after this temple. The Temple was build by King Mr. Janak.

Janaki Temple:  Janki ma tour with Mukti Yatra, It is a Hindu temple in Janakpur, Nepal, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Sita. It is an example of mixed Hindu Nepali architecture fully built in bright white and constructed in an area of 1,480 square meters in a mixed style of and Hindu Kingdom ship of ancient Nepal.

Queen Vrisha Bhanu of Tikamgarh, India built the temple in 1910 AD. In 1657, a golden statue of the Goddess Sita was found at the very spot, and Sita is said to have lived there. The legend said it that it was built on the holy site where Sannyasi  Shurkishordas had found the images of Goddess Sita. Sita, (Sanskrit: “Furrow”) also called Janaki, in Hinduism, the consort of the god Rama. Her abduction by the demon king Ravana and subsequent rescue are the central incidents in the great Hindu epic Ramayana (“Rama’s Journey”).

Itinerary

Receiving from the Sitamarhi Railiways station and then Transfer to Hotel, after short refreshment then visit Ma Sita Birthplace. Overnight Halt at Punaura/Sitamarhi.

Early morning, Darshan of Sita ma and then drive to 33km to Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Darshan of Mahadev/Puja and lunch and then drive to Janakpur.

Early morning, visit Ma Janki Temple and surrounding other temple along with Bibahmandap. Halt at Janakpur.

Early morning darshan and Puja of Ma Janki then back to Hotel Breakfast then drive back to Sitamarhi Railiways station via Bhittamod border either Pashupatinath Temple Kathmandu/Or Muktinath Temple via Pokhara.
