Detailed Itinerary
Below is the day-by-day plan for your 14-day Kailash Mansarovar overland journey.
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel, evening briefing about the journey ahead.
Full day visiting Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Overnight in Kathmandu.
Drive from Kathmandu towards the Nepal-Tibet border, crossing into Tibet. Overnight near the border area.
Continue overland into Tibet, adjusting to the changing landscape and altitude. Overnight in Nyalam.
Rest day for altitude acclimatization. Short walks and hydration recommended.
Continue overland across the Tibetan plateau towards Saga.
Arrive at the sacred lake, with first views of Mount Kailash in the distance. Overnight near the lake.
Full day at the lake for holy bath, puja, and rest before the Kora.
Drive to Darchen, then trek towards Yamdwar and on to Dirapuk. Overnight at Dirapuk.
Cross the Dolma La Pass (5,630m), the most demanding day of the Kora, descending to Zutulpuk.
Complete the final stretch of the Kora back to Darchen, marking completion of the sacred circumambulation.
Begin the return overland journey towards the Nepal-Tibet border.
Cross back into Nepal and drive to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Free time in Kathmandu, followed by transfer to the airport for departure.
